Based on our research and site visit in a particular area of Nørresundby, we found out that a large area of this site is polluted and not suitable to build on a heavy construction such as buildings. Aalborg Municipality is planning to keep this polluted area and turn it into a park, because of ‘the huge investment it requires and technical difficulties with cleaning the area to make it suitable for building on, as discussed with Associate Professor Line Marie Bruun Jespersen at her course ‘Construction of Architectural Interaction Spaces’ on 2nd of February 2017.
We would like to address this issue by developing an idea that scrutinize the shortcomings of the Smart City concept by providing the space with a new function by designing an interactive installation where participants are focused on the game and the new perception of the place.
We intend to design such an installation using different technologies, and strategies and evaluate if the project was successful by a exhibition analysis.
